Wow—what an auction! Thanks to every single one of you, we surpassed our fundraising goal, bringing in over $63,000 through this year’s Havana Nights Auction for Education! From the online auction to the live event and our Fire Sale, your generosity has Murwood PTA off to an incredible start for the 2025–2026 school year.

These dollars help fund the programs our kids love and fill in critical funding gaps not covered by the state, WCEF, or local taxes. Thanks to your incredible donations, we've exceeded our goals allowing us to surprise and delight our students with a special end-of-the-year Mustang Momentum treat! 

Speaking of funding and your student’s future—have you heard about Measure T? While we’re celebrating a huge win for Murwood, our local high school district (Acalanes Union High School District) needs our support. Measure T is a parcel tax on the upcoming ballot that would provide critical funding to maintain high-quality education across our local high schools—including the ones our Murwood kids will attend one day.

This measure proposes a $130 annual tax, and it’s worth noting that there hasn’t been an increase in over 10 years. Murwood PTA supports a YES vote on Measure T to help protect academic programs, retain quality teachers, and sustain the excellence our community expects.

At Murwood, every dollar you give to the PTA goes back to our school. Thanks to the incredible success of our Havana Nights Auction we’re off to a strong start for the '25–'26 school year.

But our work doesn’t stop here. Through PTA funding sources—including Auction proceeds, Annual Fund donations, company matching, Give Back Gatherings, PTA Membership, and spirit wear sales—we keep the momentum going all year long.

And those dollars? They fund everything from the fun to the foundational:

*Events like Fall Festival, Track & Field Day, and Disco Bingo
 *New library books and additional classroom supplies          
*Teacher support for warm, welcoming, creative classrooms
*Room Parent funds for teacher gifts and class celebrations

These aren’t “extras," they’re essentials not covered by state, WCEF, and local tax funding.

We’re excited to roll out expanded Mustang Meetups for the '25-'26 school year--PTA-sponsored events bringing Murwood families together in meaningful (and fun!) ways.

Some events are free Community Socials, while others are ticketed Give Back Gatherings where 100% of proceeds support Murwood programs.
